Emmaus is a charming borough in Lehigh County. It is located just five miles south of Pennsylvania’s third-largest city, Allentown. In 1741, the land on which Emmaus now lies was donated to the Moravian Church for the purpose of creating a faith-based village. Initially called Salzburg, the village was renamed Emmaus in 1761 by Moravian Bishop August Gottlieb Spangenberg. It remained a closed community of the Moravian Church for approximately 100 years, until the mid-19th century.

Today, Emmaus is a vibrant and active community. Shangy's, one of the nation's largest beer distributors with over 4,000 domestic and imported beer brands, attracts thousands of beer enthusiasts to Emmaus each year. Yocco's Hot Dogs, the Lehigh Valley-based fast food establishment known for their regionally-famous hot dogs and cheesesteaks, maintains its corporate headquarters on East Minor Street in Emmaus with four locations in the Lehigh Valley
